NEUE SERIE HANDDRUCK: A LOVE STORY BETWEEN PATTERNS, SCREEN PRINTING AND ETHNOGRAPHIC CULTURE

Neue Serie Handdruck is the story of a meeting between generations, where intertwine graphics, illustration, screen printing, design and textiles, between Bolzano, Peru, London and Milan, from the seventies to today.

During the imminent Milan Design Week, Tuesday, April 17th at 7 pm at Spazio b ** k in Milano, this fantastic story will be told.
Some time ago, Elena Meneghini and Nicola Chemotti Beutel met the textile engineer Otto Von Aufschnaiter in Bolzano, who opened in 1973 a natural yarn shop. In the evening Otto started to produce screen prints in the back room giving life to a collective team of printing and textile production lasted twenty years.
The project is reborn with two young graphic designers, the experimentation continues ..

Through a small but already dense ethnographic practice, this memory takes shape again, becomes a process and a testimony, an analysis, through a series of puppets. Neue Serie Handdruck re-traces, literally, a history of material culture production.
The material used has been carefully chosen focusing on the quality of the raw materials. The natural cotton is silk-screened by hand and padded with pure South Tyrolean wool. These objects are 100% Made in Italy.
